We are only open to the general public In August of each year. Opening at 10 am on the 1st Aug, with the last admittance at 4.30 pm and the site closing at 5pm daily up untill 31st Aug. Pre-booked groups are welcome all year round. The Pottery is also open all year round, for more information please click here then give Russel a ring to make sure he is in.( tickets are not required to visit the pottery )

Active August. Each year during August a Variety of activities are laid on for the public to have a go at, at no extra charge ! 'Hands on Art' exhibition will be in the 'Pottery' workshop every day. Workshops with the craftsmen can be booked, for more details check out www.hands-on-art.info or ring 01305 267463. Exhibition entry is free. Every day from the 1st to the 31st rangers are on hand to help you and answer your questions. Try pond dipping, chalk carving, mosaic design & making, pit digging, pot throwing, to name just a few. Activities change daily, if there is something you would like to do and cannot find or is not available at that time please ask one of the rangers to help. If there is a group of you we will be happy to give you a talk or a guided tour ( if time allows ), just ask ! Rangers on duty during August 2009, Adam, Matthew & Dickie. The 'Celtic Chief' will be in his homestead every Monday - Tuesday & Wednesday. Check the blackboard at the entrance for a daily timetable of happenings. |
