Pottery

One of the oldest crafts of mankind is that of making pottery, for since the dawn of civilisation where ever clay was to be found, man has used it for making useful objects.

New Barn Pottery is home to Russel Sydenham, resident master potter, who carries forward the ancient and traditional skills by hand throwing a wide variety of country style stoneware products.

Russel is producing pottery for trade & special orders and his showroom outlet shop five days a week here at New Barn.

In the evening residents have the oportunity to become 'master potters' with a pottery session with Russel in his workshop. Items made are then fired & glazed before the group leaves for home.

Russel's own outlet shop at New Barn allows the public and visiting groups to purchase items at very discounted prices ! The 'seconds' department is very popular with the bargain hunters.

The Pottery is open to the public all year round but it is wise to call first to make sure out of season ! The show room is generally open seven days a week from Easter to September each year.

Wedding pressents etc, unique dinner sets, multiple special mugs with your group or club badge on, one offs - what ever you are looking for give Russel a call on 01305 267463 or e-mail us with your requirements.
