Go Wild at New Barn Dorset

New Barn Field Centre is a residential & day field study centre. Set in the middle of its own nature reserve overlooking some of Dorset’s most glorious downland it gives it’s visitors young and old a real sense of the past and the possible future to come.
We have excellent accommodation for groups of up to 150 staying in our tastefully
converted 18th century farmstead. The accommodation ranges from quaint cottages to
an old threshing barn. The new ‘Betty’s Lodge’ sleeps twenty children and staff with
full disabled access & facilities, wet room, lounge and all bedrooms are en-
Every group has it’s own individual programme designed to fit the groups theme, requirements and budget!
Day groups visit New Barn to experience its famous ‘Living History’ days or one of our other fabulous themed half or full days.

We have; our own coppice for woodland skills & games, and the very popular shelter building. Nature ponds for studies including dipping! Permacultre, forest garden and alternative energy areas. Acres of wild flowers to keep our honey bees happy! A variety of friendly farm animals including pigs and goats. Working traditional Pottery & Bygones exhibitions.
But most importantly we have the ‘Coffee Shop’ where we feed everybody!
